The loss of nephrons results in decreased blood filtration. Additionally, vessel changes such as atherosclerosis reduce renal blood flow. As a result, renal excretion of drugs is decreased. My patient had an acute kidney injury. He was getting intravenous fluid and Remdesivir together. Later on, he developed fluid overload and was placed on Lasix. The Lasix mixed with remdesivir decreased his kidney functions and later on led to congestive heart failure.
